Dark Tales
Gothic interface direction & concept development for a medieval RPG
Developed a gothic interface direction balancing readability with a tactile, hand-crafted fantasy aesthetic. Spans character sheet, inventory, equipment, portrait framing, crafting interface and a reusable UI design language.
Ornament is cheap when it fights the information. Every frame element was built so the decoration frames legible, modular content space instead of competing with it.
For Dark Tales, I developed a gothic UI direction across character, inventory, portrait, equipment and crafting interface concepts. The aim was to give the menus a tactile fantasy identity while keeping the information clear and easy to follow.
